PREP time 5 min
BAKE time 35-40 min
TOTAL time 45 min
Yield 2 Standard Loaf Pans (English Cake)
Difficulty Super Easy

Ingredients

  • Wet Ingredients: 4 large eggs (room temp), 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar, 1 cup (240ml) vegetable oil, 1 cup (240ml) milk or orange juice (for parve), 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

  • Dry Ingredients: 2.5 cups (350g) self-rising flour (or all-purpose flour + 2.5 tsp baking powder), 1 pinch of salt

  • Marble Swirl & Garnish: ¾ cup Nutella hazelnut spread (slightly warmed),
    Powdered sugar for dusting

Method

  1. 01

Preheat & Prep: Preheat oven to 170°C (340°F) conventional mode. Grease two standard loaf pans (English cake tins) or line with baking paper.

  2. 02

One-Bowl Batter: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, oil, milk (or juice), and vanilla extract until completely smooth and emulsified (about 1 minute).

  3. 03

Add Dry Ingredients: Sift in the self-rising flour and salt. Whisk gently until just combined into a smooth, lump-free batter. Do not overmix.

  4. 04

Assemble & Marble Swirl: Divide batter evenly between the two prepared loaf pans. Dollop generous spoonfuls of warmed Nutella down the center of each pan. Use a toothpick or skewer to swirl Nutella through the batter in an '8' motion for a marbled effect.

  5. 05

Bake & Serve: Bake for 35–40 minutes until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool slightly, dust heavily with powdered sugar, slice, and serve!
