4 Large eggs

1 cup (200g) Granulated sugar

1 cup (240ml) Vegetable oil or melted butter

1 cup (240ml) Orange juice or milk/cream

1.5 cups (150g) Fresh ground poppy seeds

1.5 cups (210g) All-purpose flour

1 tbsp (10g) Baking powder

1 tsp Vanilla extract & pinch of salt

Topping 1: Powdered sugar for dusting

Topping 2: 100g dark chocolate + 100ml cream (melted for ganache)

Prep: Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and line 2 English loaf cake pans with parchment paper.

Mix Wet: In a single large bowl, whisk eggs, sugar, oil, orange juice (or milk), and vanilla extract using a hand whisk until smooth.

Add Dry: Whisk in ground poppy seeds, flour, baking powder, and salt just until combined.

Divide & Bake: Pour equal batter into the two loaf pans. Bake for 35-40 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Decorate: Dust one loaf with powdered sugar and pour warm chocolate ganache over the second loaf.
